The latest NSAG show is now up featuring 30 matchbook paintings from Jee Hoon Stark. The works a so intricately detailed that I’m thinking of attaching a magnifying glass to the gallery with a string, since that’s how he created all the art in the first place.
In his words:
Matchbook Paintings were inspired from the workshop I participated in Tokyo last year. I was invited to work with an incredible miniature artisan to learn and create three-dimensional small worlds. It was an uplifting experience in both mentally and physically. Afterward, I began working with small paintings/drawings and the results became many series of intricate paintings on matchbooks. It is an on going project, which I would like to continue to experiment with different techniques and methods for piecing small worlds.
Works are now available for sale online, or you can drop by the village to check it out!
Longtime internet pal and NSAG alum Matt Curry gets featured in a new campaign by Intel. So awesome!
Matthew Curry makes art. A lot of art. And sometimes it’s very big. But luckily he can also work at a small scale as shown by his newest show “Boy vs Dragon” now showing at Nashville’s Smallest Art Gallery. If you’re in Nashville, drop by the village and see them in person, otherwise feel free to check them out online.
Jonas Kamber is a 24 year old Graphic Designer Artist from Switzerland.
Kamber’s beautiful tonality is what caught my eye at first, but the random insertion of kittens and puppies really takes some of these pieces over the top (in all the best ways).
Bike of the day:
Did a little sleuthing, turns out one of the guys downstairs in the shoe store made it, and he’s made tons more:
